Bahamas-to-Bay Offshore Trip
Offered: April 12th, 2026
An open-water experience that serves as a dose of reality to the non-brochure side of sailing! Sailors get the opportunity to sail offshore from the Abaco, Bahamas to the Chesapeake Bay. Learn important electronic & paper-chart navigation, passage making, weather forecasting, experience night watches and cruise for an extended period of time.
While aboard you gain working knowledge of how to plan an offshore passage. Upon arrival crew is greeted at the dock where your bunks are assigned. Students will assist with watch duties, log recording, weather analysis and route strategies. You will see what you might never see doing charters in blue-sky conditions.
Please keep in mind that our duration is an estimation and the trip may take more or less days, as well as start and end times. All registered students will be notified of official voyage start time.

ASA 105 or comparable experience (Offshore Application Required)

Bay-to-Bermuda Offshore Trip
Offered :May 14th, 2026
Sail offshore from our home port in the Chesapeake Bay to St. George, Bermuda! This extended offshore adventure trains seamanship by crossing deep Atlantic waters and arriving in historic Bermuda. This is a passage without any stops, allowing you to step fully into the rhythms of offshore life. Around-the-clock sailing includes roles that rotate through watch duties, log keeping, sail handling, weather analysis, route navigation and much more.
Check in: 5pm on Thursday, May 14
Student Departure: 12pm on Thursday, May 21
Duration: 8 days, 7 Nights
Prerequisites:
Approved Offshore Application OR Keelboat Sailing (ASA101), Coastal Cruising (ASA103), and Bareboat Charter (ASA104), Coastal Navigation (105)
